The Funk Collective was formed by six musicians who share a mutual love of all things funk and soul. All players on the local North East music scene, The Funk Collective quickly became one of the most talked about live acts in Teesside. The band displayed a high energy show from the early days, fuelled by their passion for the funky jams they loved to play and put their own musical take on. The band was an instant hit with crowds across the region, making a welcome change from the floods of drab indie and ‘pub rock’ bands that were on the scene. The FC’s had arrived and things were getting funky.
Today, we are proud to be recognised as one of the premier live music acts in the North of England. In 2016 we were finalists in the Northern Wedding Awards for ‘Live Entertainment of the Year’, and we are one of the most popular wedding bands in the North East of England.
